Is Your Child Ready?

Then there’s the issue of kicked-up debris or low-hanging branches. The trail can be riddled with safety issues, which is why protective gear is important. They’ll need a sturdy helmet, eye protection, full-length clothing, and sturdy boots and gloves.

Finally, you’ll want to lead by example. If your child watches you make unsafe maneuvers or go too fast, it provides more justification that they can as well. Display proper safety techniques anytime they watch you ride so that you can model safe riding practices. Always wear the proper safety gear and lead by example. You’d be amazed how much watching their parent ride safely can affect how safe a kid rides!
