Places To Ride A UTV Near San Angelo, Texas

Riding aĀ UTVĀ is a fun, thrilling experience for the whole family, and one youā€™ll want to partake in again and again. UTVs have plenty of space for passengers and their cargo for a day of off-roading or trail riding that you wonā€™t soon forget. However, if you donā€™t already live on a large parcel of land, youā€™ll have to find a place specifically made for UTV riding, which can be tricky. Fortunately, the folks at Family Powersports San Angelo have got your back! Weā€™ve prepared a short list of three of our favorite OHV sites and the features they have, all within a two hour drive of the city of San Angelo. Try one of these great parks on your next weekend UTV adventure, then come into our dealership to chat with us about your ride!

Twin Buttes Reservoir (San Angelo, TX)

Located less than ten miles southwest of central San Angelo, the Twin Buttes Reservoir Public Use Area hosts a plethora of great outdoor activities, not least of which is its off-roading trail system. The staging area has picnic tables, lots of parking, shelters and a gorgeous view of the Twin Buttes Reservoir. The trails here go from flat and sandy near the lake to much more steep and rocky near the Twin Buttes themselves. North of the staging area are some one-of-a-kind trails that wind through creek bottoms and over hills. There is plenty here to entertain a family for an afternoon, and you can even set up a tent and camp overnight if you want to get two days of UTV riding in before heading back to the city.

Outback Adventure Track (Stanton, TX)

Take Highway 87 northwest from central San Angelo for just under 100 miles, taking a detour slightly south just before you hit the town of Big Spring and youā€™ll reach the Outdoor Adventure Park, a huge dry lake bed thatā€™s perfect for UTV riding. The trails run along the sandy hills beside the lake, and two are motocross-style. Most of the trails have double tracks for four wheeled vehicles. The Baja Roja trail is ten miles long, offering you about thirty minutes of riding fun. BBQ pits and shady areas for picnics are scattered throughout the park, and camping by members is permitted.

Twistflower Ranch (Ozona, TX)

Head 95 miles down Highway 67 to the southwest and youā€™ll find our third selection for UTV riding near San Angelo. Twistflower Ranch provides 5800 acres of riding space with a large variety of flora and fauna for you to admire and identify as you and your family ride through the distinct eco-regions within the ranch. Birdwatchers will rejoice at the sheer number of rare species seen here, while kids will get a thrill out of seeing foxes, mountain lions, bobcats and badgers. There are plenty of well-appointed cabins here to stay in when you want a weekendā€™s respite from the city, but youā€™ll need to call ahead to arrange your visit: (512) 343-1821. Youā€™ll see all the beauty that West Texas has to offer you when you pay a visit to Twistflower.

When youā€™re looking to trade in your powersports vehicle or upgrade to a newer model, maybe one with more seating, come down to our San Angelo dealership. Our staff can help you locate the perfect UTV from our wide selection of new and used UTVs for sale. We can also give you some more pointers on great places to ride around the Lone Star State.
