Clint Shobert has great racing genes, but the seventeen-year-old isn’t stopping there.
Shobert was just honored with the AMA Sports Top Rookie Award at the 2008 AMA Sports Road Race Grand Championships in Lexington, Ohio.
Clint Shobert won in Amateur Middleweight SuperSport, Amateur Heavyweight SuperBike, and Amateur Heavyweight SuperSport at this year’s AMA Sports Road Race Grand Championships held on September 19-21.
Shobert is the son of Bubba Shobert, a three-time AMA Grand National Champion and 1988 AMA SuperBike Champion. Clint’s fourteen-year-old brother, Cole, is currently racing motocross in Texas.
Clint Shobert, a native of Wolfforth, Texas, grew up riding on dirt and only recently switched to the pavement after attending a roadracing school in Atlanta. He just started roadracing in the Central Motorcycle Roadracing Association (CMRA) in May 2008, and he won his first race in just his third weekend of the series in Oklahoma.
You will probably hear more from Clint Shobert in the coming months and years, so stay tuned!
